Reverend Jesse Jackson to take part in post-Lawrence trial Press Conference

Today, a jury of their peers found David Norris and Gary Dobson guilty of the murder of Stephen Lawrence.
Doreen, Neville and the Lawrence family have waited a gruelling, heart-breaking 18 years for justice - but we want to ask:

What does this all mean?

Does this mean there is closure for the Lawrence family?

Will this help the police regain trust within Black communities?

And what of the Stephen Lawrence public inquiry findings around ‘Institutional Racism’; are they still relevant, or have we dealt with the racism of the 80’s and 90’s?

Speakers will include Reverend Jesse Jackson, Diane Abbott MP, Dr Richard Stone, member of the Lawrence inquiry, Superintendent Leroy Logan, OBV Director Simon Woolley and Chair of London Race and Criminal Justice Consortium Lee Jasper.

The press conference will take place on
Wednesday 4th January 2012 from 9.00am – 10.00am
18a Victoria Park Square, London, E2 9PB. Nearest tube station is Bethnal Green.
